Some Stevensville, Montana high school students have a cool biology teacher. Brandon Day, a teacher at Stevensville High School, located just south of Missoula, recently took his students to Burnt Fork Creek, a tributary to the Bitterroot River, to gather data by electroshocking fish in a section of the creek. Working alongside fisheries biologists and scientists, students found lunker brown trout and rainbows in the stream. Later this year, the students will continue their research, conducting additional analysis and data collection. Upon completion, they will present their analysis to project partners and community groups.
