Have you read Steve Woodruff’s story in the winter issue of Trout? If so, give us your thoughts on the ongoing attempts to control lake trout populations in the West. The story, one of the most thorough pieces ever written on the subject, details both failures and successes in the effort to reduce the impact of the voracious mack. If you haven’t seen the story, you can read it for free here.

I was especially taken back by this article in cleaning up the invasive species of trout in the west. I live in the west and did not know much about this issue until I read the story here. Some serious thought and careful planning is a must going forward and I will be doing my part to help clean our waters to bring it back somewhat to its original condition.

I don’t know if the investigation of the filing of the petition was continued. It has been a disastrous commodity for water inhabitants like fishes to be demoralized by controlling the lake trout population. I sense that self-interest were garnered all over the plan and they might use it for personal intentions.
