He created five national parks; 18 national monuments; set aside 51 federal bird sanctuaries, four national game refuges, and more than 100 million acres’ worth of national forests.
Those of us who love to fish, hunt and cherish wildlife, wild places and healthy watersheds owe a great deal to this great conservationist.
