We used to call fishing with downriggers "meat fishing." I did it biting-my-tonge a few times years ago with a marketing rep who invited me on a fishing excursion because he knew I was a fisherman. He had no idea what fly fishing was. I know it's elitest, but my granny on a walker could catch fish with a downrigger.

When they mention "World Record" and "probable" I think they need to be much more specific. So I will excuse your emotional constipation this time.

Not to mention, Omak Lake is in Washington, and Pyramid Lake is in Nevada- so your mention of ""state record Lahontan Cutthroat of 18 lbs." is a little off-base.

Pretty sure the info above says "12 pound test" record. Different than the Omak fish line class record. Check your facts and knowledge before posting a snarky reply next time. Beauty fish regardless of records, line tests, or any other trivial jibberish.
Nice work.

Well in the second paragraph it tells you what record - the 12 pound test tippet class record for fish caught on a fly. The Omak Lake fish were caught with downriggers and jigs fished deep and on decidedly heavier gear. It's a completely different class because it's a completely different technique.

Omak Lake in North Central Washington has a state record Lahontan Cutthroat of 18 lbs, so I'm not sure what "record" they could be referring to.
