The story about the Marcellus Shale drilling was very interesting. Not only do I live smack dab in the middle of it but another concern is the amount of wind turbines going up on the Allegheny Ridge very close to where I live. This so called green energy is located very close to at least 7 wild brook trout streams in a 15 mile radius. Even though the Mountain Laurel Chapter had expressed concerns over this, the Pennsylvania DCNR has not really shown any great worries over the possible head water pollution that may occur. Please keep up the good work!

The picture on page 13 of the hard-copy issue, shows the lunker trout being held above the water with one hand. From what I’ve read & heard elsewhere, trout should be cradled gently with both hands, especially towards the front of their body, & never held with just one hand. Otherwise, using one hand to hold them in place requires squeezing the slippery body forcefully to avoid “slip”, which can injure the trout, for they weren’t designed for this type treatment.
