In the spring issue of Trout, you read about biologist Sarah O’Neal’s work to survey the headwaters of Alaska’s Nushagak River for salmon–something the Alaska Department of Fish and Game has not done despite the threats posed by the proposed Pebble Mine, which would be built nearby.
To learn more about O’Neal’s work in Bristol Bay, watch this video.
Read more of O’Neal’s and Dr. Carol Ann Woody’s work in this 2008 salmon survey, as well as at the Wild Salmon Center’s website.
