In a promising move for anglers and hunters all across the country, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack today announced that the U.S. Forest Service will now defer to the 2001 Roadless Rule, and any projects taking place on roadless lands within the USFS system will now be subject to secretarial review. This is good news for sportsmen and women who understand that the best fishing and hunting begins where the road ends.
The Rapid River Roadless Area in west-central Idaho is one of the many roadless areas in the West that provide unmatched hunting and fishing opportunity.

This is fantastic! in this day and age of constant urban sprawl even with the economy in shambles, it is nice to see some areas of the lower 48 can be protected.
